Join the Last Mile: Our Vision, Mission, Goals, and Strategies (2026–2030)

The Sasakawa Leprosy (Hansen’s Disease) Initiative has established its Vision, Mission, Goals, and Strategies for the period 2026–2030.

In April 2021, the World Health Organization (WHO) launched “Towards Zero Leprosy: Global Leprosy (Hansen’s Disease) Strategy 2021–2030.” As 2026 marks the beginning of the second half of this global strategy, the coming five years will be critical for accelerating progress toward a world free from leprosy and its consequences.

Recognizing the importance of this milestone, the Sasakawa Leprosy Initiative has developed its own set of goals and strategic priorities to guide our efforts through 2030. These goals build upon global commitments while reflecting the Initiative’s unique role in promoting dignity, inclusion, and the rights of persons affected by leprosy.

We invite you to review our Vision, Mission, Goals, and Strategies and join us in this important journey. Achieving a world without leprosy-related discrimination and ensuring that no one is left behind will require the commitment and collaboration of governments, organizations, communities, and individuals around the world.

Together, we can make the final stretch count.
The last mile starts now.
