From July 4 to 6, 2025, the 3rd Global Forum of People’s Organizations on Hansen’s Disease was held in Bali, Indonesia. This important gathering brought together over 110 representatives of organizations of persons affected by Hansen’s disease from 21 countries, all united in their efforts to overcome the challenges associated with the disease and its social discriminations.
Ahead of the Forum, 19 participating organizations conducted community-based needs assessments to identify key issues they face and to help shape productive discussions during the Forum. Based on these assessments, each organization created a poster, which were displayed at the venue of the 22nd International Leprosy Congress (ILC). These posters offer valuable perspectives of persons affected by Hansen’s disease and highlight the initiatives being undertaken by organizations.
Through this poster exhibition, we aim to share these voices with a broader audience—including medical professionals, researchers, and other stakeholders—fostering deeper collaboration and understanding.
You can view the posters from all 19 participating organizations here. We invite you to explore their efforts and learn more about the ongoing work to create a world free from the stigma and discrimination associated with Hansen’s disease.
